Takatsuki Castle, where Wada Tadamasa and the father and son of Takayama Hidamori and Ukon became the lord of the castle during the Warring States period, was developed as part of the Tokugawa Shogunate's control over the Kamigata region in the Edo period, and boasted the dignity of being the only early modern castle in Hokusetsu. However, after the abolition of the domain in 1871, the castle was torn down in 1874 to use the stonewall stones for the construction of a railroad, and most of the castle's remains were lost from the surface of the earth over time.
